Changing from brown to bright red when in contact with water, Regin Kolor Kut water finding paste is simply applied to a rod or length of string and a plumb weight. Simple yet effective, Kolor Kut is the clear way to find out whether there's water sitting in a deep storage tank.
Kolor Kut Water Finding Paste is also sometimes referred to as Water Gauging Paste and it does exactly what it says on the box. It was developed to help test for the presence of water at the bottom of fuel storage tanks. It does this by providing a clear visual indicator for the presence of water by a very bold colour change from brown to red when the paste comes into contact with water.
How to use Kolor Kut: Place a thin film of the paste on a clean gauge line, or rod, approximately where water level is expected to appear. Lower the tape into the tank until the bottom is reached and, on removal, the water level will appear by positive contrast of colours (paste applies brown but turns a vibrant red when it makes contact with water). Instantaneously in petrol, diesel, kerosene and gas oils but heavy oils will require a few seconds to show.
