OpenTherm is a “digital language” between heating controls and the boiler, to modulate the temperature flow through a heating system. This gives the boiler more information about the temperature of the room, which it can be used to run the boiler more efficiently, by only using the necessary amount of gas to heat the water to the required temperature.
The Two Way communication protocol is designed to prevent loss of signal between the thermostat and boiler receiver. This feature is a major GAME CHANGER for the remote frequency thermostat market. Power outage or battery failure is no longer an issue, as both devices will automatically search for each other and reconnect/pair when power is re-established.
